Our goal is to greatly expand our donor pool and be able to turn the ‘Community Refugee Fund’ into the’Community Refugee Foundation’ within five to seven years, assuring its financial viability.
Our dream is to be able to gather sufficient capital funds such that only the interest of the ‘Community Refugee Foundation’ would be paid out in refugee needs each fiscal year.
This work will ensure the ability of the Community Refugee Fund to respond to needs so that refugees can establish financial independence for decades into the future.
Furthermore, while all funds raised today go to direct needs, we plan to establish an endowment in the distant future. When/if the Sisters of the Holy Names, who have held this fund ‘In Trust’ and service since January 1999, can no longer manage the Fund it will be handed over to the Windsor Essex Community Foundation to continue the mission to serve the needs of economically disadvantaged refugees of future generations.
